Interactive non fungible tokens will support augmented reality technology.
The US Space Force (USSF) will release a collection of non fungible tokens (NFT) in honor of the launch of the Armstrong navigation satellite.
The spacecraft was named after American astronaut Neil Armstrong. Interactive NFT tokens are designed by digital artists WorldwideXR and VueXR.
Tokens can be used with augmented reality technology in the VueXR mobile app for Android and iOS.
NFT tokens from the US Space Force collection will be available on the Ethernity platform on the launch day of the satellite, which is scheduled for June 17.
In early June, the American private space company Astrobotic Technology announced that it was sending a hardware wallet to the moon in the form of a physical coin containing one bitcoin.
In a bold fusion of space exploration and digital innovation, the U.S. Space Force has announced plans to release a series of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to commemorate its latest satellite launch. The collection will feature exclusive digital artwork, mission patches, and commemorative moments that capture the essence of this milestone event. By leveraging blockchain technology, the Space Force aims to create a lasting, verifiable record of its achievements in space while engaging with a new generation of digital collectors and enthusiasts.
The NFT release marks a historic first for any branch of the U.S. military, symbolizing how emerging technologies can bridge the gap between defense, art, and digital ownership. Each NFT will be minted on a secure blockchain, ensuring authenticity and scarcity for collectors. The initiative also underscores the Space Force’s commitment to embracing innovative technologies — not only in orbit but also across digital and cultural landscapes.
Experts believe this move could open new opportunities for public engagement and education around space missions. By combining space heritage with blockchain’s transparency and permanence, the U.S. Space Force is setting a precedent for how government organizations can use NFTs to tell their stories in an immersive and future-forward way. The launch of this NFT collection serves as both a celebration of technological progress and a glimpse into how digital assets may shape the future of public outreach.
The Peregrine lunar module will be launched in November this year. Astrobotic Technology will buy Bitcoin on the BitMEX crypto exchange.
