Sotheby’s sold NFT from the CryptoPunk collection for $ 11.8 million

This is the record cost of one non fungible token from this set of digital avatars in the form of people, monkeys, aliens and other creatures.

Auction house Sotheby’s announced the sale of a rare non fungible token (NFT) “Alien” # 7523 (“Alien”) from the CryptoPunk collection for $ 11.8 million. This is a record price of one NFTtoken from this collection.

Sotheby’s is running an online auction Natively Digital: Curated NFT Sale, in which another 25 NFT tokens were put up for sale. Among them is the oldest non fungible token, which was created in 2014.

CryptoPunk is a collection of 10,000 digital avatars in the form of people, monkeys, aliens and other creatures, created in the form of NFT. Before the sale of the Alien token at Sotheby’s, the most expensive NFT from the collection was CryptoPunk # 7804, which sold for $ 7.6 million.

In May, auction house Christie’s sold nine rare NFT tokens from the CryptoPunk collection for $ 16.9 million.
