American economist and professor at New York University Nouriel Roubini, who predicted the global financial crisis of 2008, predicted that the value of Crypto Assets may soon decrease due to the trend towards regulation of cryptocurrencies.
Most civilized countries do not want to live in a world where you can anonymously transfer money from the United States to the Seychelles or any other offshore center, Roubini said at a meeting of VTB Private Banking with wealthy clients.
According to the economist, in the coming months, the crypto assets industry will want to be settled in the USA, Europe, the UK and Japan.
“This will probably lead to a decrease in the value of some of these assets. But I don’t think they will die at all, ”Roubini said.
Roubini also believes that private cryptocurrencies as a means of payment will live 5-10 years from the moment the digital currencies of central banks emerged. National digital currencies will be much more reliable, the economist is sure.
Rubini is a longtime critic of cryptocurrencies. Late last year, he referred to cryptocurrencies as a “trash heap” and claimed they were being used for tax evasion and money laundering.
@jchervinsky : you are delusional. Biden’s team, starting with Yellen who was my boss at CEA, will crack down on this criminal tax evading & AML-KYC-TFC-evading crypto/shitcoins cesspool much more than Mnuchin. Get a life as you have become a crypto hired gun cheerleader/enabler https://t.co/558ziHBUWg
