According to the ex-president of the United States, investing in digital assets hurts the American currency.
Billionaire and former US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox Business, warned cryptocurrency holders that investing in digital assets could lead to disaster.
According to Trump, investing in cryptocurrency harms the US currency. The ex-president also added that digital assets can be “fake” because people know little about them.
“Who knows what they are, but it’s definitely something people don’t know much about,” Trump said.
The billionaire added that he has never been a supporter of Cryptocurrency, because he likes the US dollar, which, according to Trump, should be invested in.
In June, the billionaire already criticized the cryptocurrency. Then Trump called bitcoin a fraud and called on the US authorities to introduce strict regulation of the crypto market.
Trump explained his dislike for bitcoin by the fact that the cryptocurrency competes with the US dollar, which, in his opinion, should become the “currency of the world.”
Trump planned to “do away” with bitcoin and other Cryptocurrency and stop trading in them as President of the United States. With such an order, he turned to US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin in May 2018.
The ex-president has repeatedly expressed his negative attitude towards digital assets. For example, in July last year, Trump said that cryptocurrencies are not money, they are extremely volatile, and their value is “out of the blue.”
