A mining farm was found in the main police department of Poland

Illegal mining of cryptocurrency was carried out by an IT specialist who had access to equipment. He was already fired.

A mining farm was discovered in the office of the Polish police headquarters in Warsaw, local newspaper Wyborcza.pl reports .

According to the publication, a civilian, an IT specialist, who has already been fired, was engaged in the extraction of the cryptocurrency.

The police department assured that the dismissed employee did not have access to law enforcement databases.

Polish police spokesman Mariusz Czarka said that the IT specialist who set up the mining farm in the police department used free electricity and internet connection, as well as equipment that was not connected to databases with confidential information.

At the end of 2020, it became known that Ukrainian businessman Igor Kolomoisky and his business partners had placed a  mining farm at their CC Metals & Alloys (CCMA) steel plant, where a third party mines cryptocurrencies.
