One of the largest banks in Spain will allow you to buy, sell and store bitcoin. Support for other digital assets will be added in the future.
Spanish bank BBVA announced that from June 21, clients of its Swiss private banking division will be able to buy, sell and store cryptocurrency. For now, the organization will only allow clients to trade bitcoin. In the future, the bank will expand the list of available digital assets. The BBVA noted that investors will not receive advice when buying cryptocurrencies.
The new service was launched after six months of testing, explained BBVA Switzerland CEO Alfonso Gomez. According to him, among the bank’s clients, there was a demand for the purchase of digital assets to diversify the portfolio, despite the volatility of cryptocurrencies.
BBVA clients will have access to personal digital wallets, with which they can convert bitcoin into euros or any other currency, as well as buy cryptocurrency for fiat.
