The US Republican Party started accepting cryptocurrency donations

You can deposit funds in Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. Payments are processed by BitPay, which immediately converts digital coins into US dollars.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has begun accepting cryptocurrency as campaign donations, Axios reported . The NRCC will not hold digital assets.

Donations are accepted through the BitPay payment service, which automatically converts them to US dollars. You can make a contribution in Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.

Back in 2014, the US Federal Election Commission set a limit on cryptocurrency transfers to such organizations at $ 100 per year.

Due to the fact that the committee will not directly interact with digital currencies, it will be able to accept donations up to $ 10 thousand per year. The NRCC will also collect the identity of the people who donated.

In June, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, who was vying with Joe Biden for the Democratic presidential nomination, called cryptocurrency a “lousy investment” compared to the stock market.

During the Senate Banking Committee meeting, Warren recalled pump & dump schemes common in digital assets, mentioning Dogecoin.
