The head of General Motors allowed the sale of cars for bitcoin

Mary Barra named the condition under which the company will start accepting cryptocurrency for payment.

General Motors CEO Mary Barra admitted in an interview with CNBC that the company could start selling its cars for Bitcoin. This will only happen if the manufacturer sees such a need from customers, Barra said

“Nothing prevents us from doing this. We will be guided by the wishes of our customers, ”added Barra.

Tesla began selling its electric cars for bitcoin at the end of March. Already in mid-May, the manufacturer abandoned this due to the non-ecological method of mining digital coins.

In June, Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that his company will return the ability to pay in bitcoin after most of the main cryptocurrency miners switch to renewable energy sources.

On June 2, electric car maker Daymak announced the release of a new model Spiritus, which will be able to mine cryptocurrency while charging and parking. The electric car will mine digital coins “from Dogecoin to Bitcoin“, its production will begin in 2023.
