Popular American broker Interactive Brokers will provide its clients with access to cryptocurrency trading by the end of the summer. This was announced by the head of the company Thomas Peterffy at the Piper Sandler Global Exchange & FinTech conference, writes CNBC . Interactive Brokers clients can now trade bitcoin futures on the broker’s electronic platform.
“Clients are definitely asking for [cryptocurrency trading] and we expect to be ready to offer this opportunity by the end of the summer,” Peterffy said.
Interactive Brokers‘ direct competitors – brokers Fidelity and Charles Schwab – already provide their clients with access to digital assets, but they do this not directly, but through separate cryptocurrency funds.
