BlackRock investor says Bitcoin is resilient

Rick Reeder considers the main cryptocurrency an interesting asset that has not yet reached maturity.

BlackRock Fixed Income Investor Rick Reader, in an interview with CNBC, called Bitcoin an interesting asset that has not yet matured.

According to him, now the main cryptocurrency has problems, but it will be able to overcome them and become a stable asset in the future. Reeder expressed confidence that bitcoin will become part of the “investment arena” for years to come.

BlackRock is one of the largest investment companies in the world with $ 8.7 trillion in assets under management.

In early April, she disclosed information on the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) website that she began working with bitcoin futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). BlackRock held 37 contracts with an expiration date of March 26th. Their par value was $ 6.1 million, and their unrealized profit was $ 360 thousand.

The fact that BlackRock plans to start trading Bitcoin futures became known in January 2021. This was the first time that an investment giant had announced an interest in cryptocurrency.
