AirBaltic started selling flights for Dogecoin

Clients of the Latvian airline can purchase tickets for the flight for the cryptocurrency supported by Elon Musk, as well as bitcoins, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and four stablecoins pegged to the dollar rate.

Latvian airline AS Air Baltic Corporation has added the ability to purchase tickets for Dogecoin, Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash. Now, in total, the company accepts eight cryptocurrencies for payment, including bitcoin and 4 stablecoins pegged to the dollar rate: GUSD, USDC, PAX and BUSD.

AirBaltic works with BitPay, a crypto processing service. At the time of payment, the cryptocurrency is converted into euros. The company started working with bitcoin back in 2014. Since then, thousands of customers have used the service, said the carrier’s CEO Matin Gauss.

Carmaker Tesla added bitcoin payment for its products last week . While this payment method is only available to US customers, it will be introduced in other countries later this year. The company will not convert bitcoins received as payment into dollars.
Elon Musk is a supporter of the Dogecoin cryptocurrency. He said that the only problem with the project is the too high concentration of cryptocurrency on a small number of wallets. To solve the problem, Musk promised to support large altcoin holders if they decide to sell most of their coins.
